Pre-Game Bits & Bites:
Trade Deadline Day: What? Really? Oilers fall silent and do nothing. “Overall, we just didn’t feel there was an opportunity to do anything today.” - Kevin Lowe. Kevin was neither buying or selling today, folks. Sooo…Dwayne Roloson is staying, as many were wondering what his fate would be as an Edmonton Oiler Goaltender. Is the Oil GM having some faith in his boys (ahem - still not over the Ryan Smyth bullshite, btw)?!! Interesting what the rest of this season and the 2008-2009 season will bring (I really was looking forward to taking the Oil flags out of my trunk and driving around Cowtown causing some shite).  I guess the concentration is on finishing the season the best to their ability and getting their players bloody healthy.  Definitely take a listen as Kevin Lowe addresses the media today.
Injury Report: Say it isn’t so - Oil Captain, Ethan Moreau - Out for the Season. He fractured his left leg on Sunday’s game against the Avalanche (which we won, btw).  Ladislav Smid is out indefinitely with a sprained ankle. I am thinking our boys need some TLC and stat!!
Hitting the Ice: Since Moreau will be benching it the rest of the season, Left Wing Geoff Sanderson will be making an appearance on the ice tonight which will be his 1100th game. He was last in the line-up against Cowtown on Feb 9th.
Recalled: Patrick Thoresen was recalled from conditioning assignment in Springfield & placed on waivers. However, the Philadelphia Flyers grabbed him off waivers from the Oil last Friday.
GO OILERS!!!
Update #1:Â Ending the 1st period with no score.
Update #2: Score!!!!!!! The Oil put some numbers on the board with the first goal of the evening!! Tom Gilbert grabbed the goal and from the sounds of it, the Oil fans are like no other - those rowdy buggers!! LOVE IT!!!! We also have the BEST commentators ever.Â
Update #3: Oh GEOFF, Baby!!!!  He takes the Oil 2-0 into the 3rd period. WTG!!!!
Update #4: Oh. Bloody. Hell. A couple of powerplay ops and the Wings score. Blah blah. C’MON OILERS!!!!! GOOOO!!! The Fairy Wings tie up the game - which should make the rest of the 3rd period something to see..’er, listen to - on 630 Ched, of course.
Update #5:  Pisani - I could KISS you right now!!! He tied it up 3-3 with 26 seconds left in the 3rd period. Oh yea. Tom Gilbert picked up his 3rd point of the night with a second assist. You know he will be one of the 3 stars tonight.
Update #6: And it’s time for a shootout. GO OILERS!!! (last time these 2 teams had a shootout together - it was December 2007 with Oil taking it. I’m just saying….)
Update #7: Yeeeeeeeee-haw!!!!!! ‘Nuff said. These boys rock my world.
